Abstract

This study aims to examine the environmental and economic impacts of parents that can affect students' learning motivation, each student has a different level of motivation, this happens because the economic and environmental conditions experienced by students are different. This study uses a qualitative method in which the researcher acts as an instrument or key, and the data obtained by, first; observation of school conditions and community conditions, second; interviews with principals, teachers, and students, third; documentation. The data analysis technique is in the form of data reduction with data that is in accordance with the research focus, then data presentation by describing any data found in the field and then drawing conclusions from the data results and data descriptions carried out.

The results obtained that the environmental and economic factors of parents affect students' learning motivation. Therefore, it is necessary to encourage and pay attention to the importance of parents both at home and teachers in the school environment and to provide awareness of the importance of education in the student learning environment. Economically, parents in the middle to upper economic category are much easier to meet their children's educational needs and facilities, while parents whose economy is classified as lower middle class have difficulty meeting the needs and facilitating education for their children, if children's learning facilities are not met then it will affect children's motivation in learning.
