Authorship Criteria

Khatulistiwa: Jurnal Ilmu Pendidikan requires that all individuals listed as authors must have made a significant and substantial contribution to the research and the manuscript. To maintain academic integrity and transparency, the journal adheres to the authorship guidelines established by international academic standards.

To qualify for authorship, an individual must meet all four of the following criteria:

  1. Substantial Contributions: Made significant contributions to the conception or design of the work; or the acquisition, analysis, or interpretation of data for the work; AND

  2. Drafting and Revising: Drafted the work or critically revised it for important intellectual content; AND

  3. Final Approval: Gave final approval of the version to be published; AND

  4. Accountability: Agreed to be accountable for all aspects of the work in ensuring that questions related to the accuracy or integrity of any part of the work are appropriately investigated and resolved.

Corresponding Author Responsibilities The Corresponding Author is the individual who takes primary responsibility for communication with the journal during the manuscript submission, peer review, and publication process. The Corresponding Author must ensure that all co-authors have reviewed and approved the final version of the manuscript and have agreed to its submission for publication.

Contributors and Acknowledgments Individuals who contributed to the study or manuscript but do not meet all four criteria for authorship (e.g., providing funding, general supervision of a research group, administrative support, language editing, or technical formatting) should not be listed as authors. Instead, their contributions must be formally recognized in the Acknowledgments section, provided they have given written permission to be named.

Changes to Authorship Any requests to add, delete, or rearrange author names after the initial submission must be sent to the Editor-in-Chief by the Corresponding Author. The request must include:

  1. The reason for the change in authorship.

  2. Written confirmation (e.g., via email or formal letter) from all authors—including those being added or removed—expressing their agreement with the proposed change.Note: Changes to authorship will not be permitted once the manuscript has been accepted for publication.
